Why Do We Use the Term Yoni Instead of Vagina

Why Do We Use the Term Yoni Instead of Vagina

Yoni is the Sanskrit name for womb or entrance of life. As time went on the term Yoni evolved to represent a woman’s sexual organs (uterus, vulva, and vagina). Why do we use a term in Hindu? The yoni was the symbol that represented the goddess Shakti who was honored as the mother goddess, a universal source of energy, power, and creativity.

When using the term yoni we are discussing the care of the womb and sexual organs holistically. Hinduism is a very sacred practice with a strong spiritual foundation built on the healing of the mind, body, and spirit. One of the healing practices used include Ayurveda which is the use of medicinal oils. The oils are infused with various herbs that ultimately contribute to the healing/reconstruction of the body.

I choose to consciously use the term yoni as my business was created on this Indian belief alone as It relates to the healing/reconstruction of the endocrine and reproductive systems. Being someone who has always practiced alternative methods to heal my own body, as well as my children, this belief system was the one that resonated with me the most. I am also a huge meditator as well as being directly connected with spirit. Because I am not a medical doctor legally I cannot make any medical claims, however, I state facts based on my own personal experiences in an effort to help as many women as possible live a more fulfilled and healthy life:-)

The OS Yoni Oil

This is an oil that was created to assist with irritation on or around the vulva area as well as an oil that can be applied before or after sex. In my personal experience I have found that using this oil for postpartum recovery has helped with vaginal tearing which can be caused while giving birth and hemorrhoids. Whats inside:

Ashwagandha - Stimulates libido / sexual desire and stamina for both women and men. In addition, using this oil can also help with vaginal discomfort and dryness. Many studies suggest that ashwagandha can also help with vaginal infections, thanks to its antimicrobial properties. In fact, Ayurvedic practitioners suggest use of the herb for yeast infections (Pattnaik).

Damina - Stimulate libido as well as increases sensitivity and stamina.

Coconut Oil - Anti-fungal and antibacterial. Great for helping with discomfort caused by a yeast infection, or BV.
